Introducing Advanced DMARC Handling

advanced-dmarc-config-blog

At Entri, we're constantly innovating to bring more powerful and user-friendly features to our DNS API products. Today, we’re excited to announce the release of Advanced DMARC Handling for our DNS API product, Connect.

This new feature opens up a whole new range of possibilities for SaaS applications, especially those that require users to configure a DMARC record to use their tools, such as CRMs, marketing platforms, and email automation tools.

Advanced DMARC Handling: flexible control for SaaS applications

Our new Advanced DMARC Handling feature allows SaaS applications to offer their users more granular control over DMARC records.

Instead of overwriting the entire DMARC record when a user wants to make a small modification—such as updating the RUA (Reporting URI for Aggregate Reports) tag or changing the quarantine policy—users can now update specific parts without impacting the rest of the record.

This feature is a game-changer for applications like CRMs and email marketing tools that help customers manage their domains and email authentication. Here's how:

  • Modify DMARC Records Safely: SaaS applications can allow users to modify specific tags, like RUA or RUF (Reporting URI for Failure Reports), without the risk of accidentally breaking their DMARC policy.

  • Improve Email Deliverability: End users can fine-tune their DMARC settings, such as domain quarantine or reject policies, ensuring their emails are delivered without sacrificing security.

  • Enhanced User Experience: Advanced DMARC Handling simplifies the user experience by enabling seamless updates to email security settings without needing technical expertise or worrying about record integrity.

Use cases: How SaaS applications can leverage advanced DMARC Handling

1. CRM Tools: Many customer relationship management (CRM) platforms rely on email as their primary communication channel. Advanced DMARC Handling allows CRM users to customize their email reporting tags, like the RUA tag, without altering the domain’s main DMARC policy. This ensures they can keep an eye on email performance while maintaining strict email security standards.

2. Email Marketing Platforms: Email marketing tools can now offer end users a more flexible way to manage their email deliverability. Users can adjust their DMARC policies based on real-time feedback from reports, making it easier to tweak domain settings for better inbox placement while avoiding common errors like overwriting the entire policy.

3. SaaS Platforms with Custom Domains: SaaS platforms that offer custom domain functionality can leverage this feature to enable non-technical users to adjust specific aspects of their DMARC policy—without needing deep expertise in DNS settings.
